Lutheran Basement Art

I love this art installation of bundt cake molds by artist Jennifer Vanderpool. It's genius. Genius I tell you!

The colors are so gorgeous and I adore the use of everyday objects repeated to such a degree that it blurs their original purpose. Plus this totally reminds me of being in some Alice in Wonderland version of a Lutheran Church Basement social and checking out the jello mold table. And there is ALWAYS a jello mold table in a Luther Church Basement social.

HA! I did plenty of time in the Lutheran church basement. As a recovering Lutheran, I occasionally try to bring some of that culture to the Unitarian Fellowship where I attend now, but they just don't get it. I love finding a kindred church basement spirit! How about a white bread and lunch meat sandwich, and some chocolate sheet cake!

Only if we can drink coffee with EVERYTHING!

They are so pretty, I haven't a clue how to go about simple jello molds. And the ones with the layers? Pfft, forget it. But this is out of my league.

This is like Andy Warhol meets Betty Crocker.

I want to know what she used to pour into the molds. The colored ones came out looking like Bakelite.
