Quiznos on Crack

I found this Quizno's commercial over at Say No To Crack and it made me remember when husband and I first watched it on TV together. When it was over we both looked at each other, each of us hoping to verify that the other person had also seen that crazy shit go down. I thank Christ that we were watching this together because had I seen it alone I'm sure I would have been convinced I had taken too many mother's helpers and hallucinated these crazy hamsters. Seriously, can you imagine the pitch meeting for this commercial? Were the agency creatives holding up dead hamsters with glued on rolly eyeballs to enact the storyboards?

I think I'll call husband at work today and just sing, "They got a pepper bar!!!" into the phone.

I guess I don't know what to say because I've deleted the comment I was working on 4 times and started over. I suppose I'm glad I watch so little TV.

Seriously, I was so freaked out the first time I saw this commercial. So. freaked. out.

I didn't mean to hit send yet!! But, anyway, yep. Still freaking out.

(I wanted to say something else, probably about how someone I know calls it QuizMo's, and it really pisses me off, and makes me laugh behind their back at the same time....oops! It's my mother that says that...)

My, oh my. This actually makes me thankful for commercial-free AFN TV. Must never show this to my children, who are grieving the recent loss of a pet hamster. It's clearly the stuff of nightmares and future therapy appointments.

OH....MY...GAWD - I so remember that commercial - I was watching it with my husband too...I just figured the guys at Quizos and their ad agency shared one big bong too many...They wer sort of like if a potato and a hamster got busy during a nuclear reactor meltdown...

THAT is just weird.
I never saw that before.

I always love to think of the pitch meetings that went down when I see crazy commercials like that...Yikes.

Victor and I used to drop everything we were doing to run into the living room when this commercial came on.

Nothing better than a dead rodent hocking you a sandwich.

It helps that I already hated Quizno's before.

This commercial always cracked me up. Yeah, it's disturbing, with the dead singing rodents and all, but "They got a pepper bar!".

Mark - Thanks for trying. And watch some TV damnit!

Jill & Diane - I know!

Jen - Or something...

Jenny - It is horribly magnetic. So bad it becomes interesting.

Nikki - True, I can't get that line outta my head!

Mommie - We saw it once and never again. Which is why someone witnessed it with me!

I remember these commericals. And yes, there were more than one. Hubby and I couldnt watch them at one point, so we would change the channel. We wonder who thought it was a good idea to sell food with roadkill?

Oh my God, what is with the teeth. I have never eaten at a Quinzo's and never will because of these commericals. Good job, guys. I still think of these commericals to this day.

Wendy - It is odd. Funny, but odd for a national tv commercial.

OTJ - I always picture the demographic target or pitch when I see commercials sistah!

Very scary, indeed! I remember seeing this on TV and wondering if this actually convinced anyone to come to their restaurant. Hopefully this writer is now drawing unemployment. At least, for the restaurant's sake!

If you liked the ad(or maybe didn't like it) go the source: http://www.rathergood.com/
Watch "We like the moon". There are videos here that me and my daughter have really enjoyed -WARNING - some are not safe for kids.(But the ones I've listed are.) On the right hand side: Giant Bee - great. Bananas - fantastic. Left hand side-under Other songs - Chilled - Northern - lots of fun! Enjoy!!!!

Whoops - switch the sides left=right, right=left. Ha ha! No jokes about directionly challenged!

I know I'm late on this one but it's my first time here and I had to say that my husband and I had the exact same experience as you watching this for the first time together.
Weirdest commercial ever.
Thanks for making me laugh out loud.
