Fun Monday

Peppermint Tea is hosting Fun Monday and she asked us to post a favorite family recipe. The problem is I really don't cook. Ah hell, I can grill up some chicken breast on the George Foreman and crack open a bag of premixed lettuce like a pro. But when it comes to putting recipes together my ADD usually gets the better of me. I end up wandering off to watch The View halfway through the preparation and leaving the sugar out of the pie filling.

But there is one recipe that I've manged to get right every time so that's what I'm sharing with you today. White Trash Salad, enjoy!

White Trash Salad

Apples
Snickers Bars
Cool Whip

Cut up the apples into tiny pieces. Cut up the snickers into tiny pieces. Mix together and add Cool Whip to taste. Ta da! It's actually super yummy.

And I had this at Carol's house and loved it! It doesn't have a name but I'll call it White Trash Dip.

White Trash Dip

Marshmallow Fluff
Cream Cheese
Strawberries

Mix together a block of softened cream cheese and a jar of marshmallow fluff. Wash strawberries. Dip and eat.

And did I mention these recipes are 0 Points? Really, they are. You can believe me cause I'm fat and know about these things.

Enid is hosting next week's Fun Monday and it's called A Life In The Day. Sounds clever, so check it out if you dare to share how you lie on the couch while your kids watch cartoons till 9am. Oh wait, that's me.

True, though as you can see both my recipes do include fruit. Nothing like a little glucose mixed with glucose to fire you up for a few hours!

White trash salad - HEE HEE - and yet, it looks surprisingly tantalizing to the tastebuds.

and for Beccy - Cool Whip is nothing more than whipped cream in a tub (bought frozen) - for us lazy Americans.

Mmmmm! Love me some marshmallow fluff - especially w/ peanut butter. In college we used to make Fluffernutter sandwiches. Sounds dirty, doesn't it?!

I have that exact tub of Fluff in my kitchen. One of my sons lives for his Friday Fluffernutter sandwich.

There was a Fluff festival near our house in the fall. I have photos of (other people's) kids who went swimming in the stuff! Yuck!

Ah, marshmallow fluff. They don't sell that here. My father in law brought me a jar from NH once and I fell in love. Sadly, IL does not recognize the joy that is Fluff.

Karly - I'm from IL and we have fluff all over the darn place. Get thee to a Walmart!
