Memorial Weekend Pictures

Brokeass mama rule #1: Stay on the good side of relatives who own a boat and/or vacation home at all times!

In Michigan...This dinghy belonged to another group on the beach. But son kept trying to pull it into the water and sail away. Then he put the boat owner's 2 year old boy in it and tried to tow him out for a ride. Lastly, he had little sister in there and was ready to take off but was thwarted when the dinghy owner's took their rubber boat back to the mother ship.

Me, in my new Lands End outlet suit with daughter. (No pictures below the waist please!) I must say it was so nice not to be in a swimsuit with a nubby butt and broken elastic. Did I mention that Lands End is sending me a free swimsuit for review? Plus they are going to host a Q&A on swimsuit fits on this blog soon. I optimistically ordered the next size down and this brokeass mama is very excited for the free clothing. Also, note the crazy red burn on my shoulders. I am the queen of random sunscreen application. You don't want to ask me to rub in the SPF unless you like having a big red hand print on your shoulders.

Husband and kids skipping rocks. That's the affluent and friendly relative's boat in the background. So fun! So nice of them to host us!

Daughter was so excited to be sitting up at the counter eating breakfast with the big girls. She's so thrilled her cousins are letting her hang with them. Daughter followed them around all weekend and they very sweetly indulged her.

And now I must go and face the mounds of unwashed, wet laundry that await every mom at the end of a vacation.

How fun! I guess I just need to find some affluent relatives with a boat now

Hubby's friends only have small fishing boats ...:(

I also, am unfortunate in not having affluent relatives or friends. *sigh*

Looks like you had fun, the kids are adorable as always (so are your neices) and you are looking very svelte in the swimsuit.

There's not a chance you will see even that much of a bathing suit posted in a picture of me! ;)

Looks like you had fun! My aunt is marrying a millionaire and I AM MORE EXCITED THAN HER! Can't wait for all the fun stuff I can do with his money. LOL! (I'm not really that horrible of a person, am I?) (Yes. I am.)

WM - Hey, I'm from WI. I love fishing boats!

Jen - Really? I keep looking at the picture and thinking how GINORMOUS my arms are. Thank you.

DC - Thanks! I love my Kmart blue floppy hat. Husband calls it my granny hat but I think it's cool.

Karly - That rocks. I would be excited too! Just wait till Christmas!

LM - Thanks, you are too kind. If my ass was included in that picture you might rethink the skinny thing.

Looks like you guys had a blast! the kids love going to the beach but I find it a tad bit nerve wracking with all of the people, creepy sea creatures, and undertow. After a few Budlites tho I tend to calm down a bit. ;)

That trip looks awesome! I need some rich relatives. We are the rich relatives. And really, that's a sad, sad commentary about the wealth of our families.

Kelly - It's all relative.
