Grace Weston Artwork

I love Grace Weston's photography! I love any art that gives off a vintage/ironic/sarcastic feeling. I also adore object art (like a random picture of a box of detergent) and Grace manages to combine both of these elements. Love it! I think Nighty Nite is my favorite since it reminds me so much of the nighttime anxiety monsters so many of us face. Flashes of freaked out "What if my child gets run over by the ice-cream truck!" scenarios that run willy nilly through our brains as we try to get some sleep. And I can also see how it could be about that childhood anxiety that kids with family issues (meaning all kids) deal with. It's just so kickass.

Found on Neatorama.

I thought I was the only one having horrible night-time anxities or wierd thoughts. LOL! I really like object art as well.

No way man, it's one of those mommy things they don't tell you about when you're childless.

Okay..... are those little evil red flying monkies? I'd be looking that way myself and seriously.......... there is a man who walks around our little town who looks like a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz! When I was younger and would walk to my friends house..... I would so be on the look out for him! We crossed paths once.... scariest moment of my life...... he stopped and made a whooping noise at me...... I pretty much pissed my pants and ran 1/2 mile to Jennifers house!

Thanks for the memory Lotta! Har, har, har!

Dude, those look like demonic versions of barrel-of-monkeys! Do they make those? Cause that would take such a classic game to such different levels, don't you think?

Wow. COOL. I especially like the eyeball therapist with the heart and brain, and the heart has some wadded up tissue beside it. Genius.

I HATE those last minute visions of horrible scenarios that flash into my mind just before I drift off to sleep that cause me to throw off the covers and go running into my daughters room...
