Mad Men

My favorite show of the moment is Mad Men on AMC TV. Good God. It's like they sat around the table and said, "Mmmm, what type of show would Lotta like?". It's set in an advertising agency in 1959. I could lick the set it's so dead on and beautiful. The frothy bloody mary's on the center of every meeting table look a heck of a lot yummier than the bagels we get today. The women all look so wonderful in their costumes. And the offices look better than the best room in my house. It's just a big old box of eye candy.

And the best part, it's wicked and blunt, with a realism that makes everything so much more interesting. They are racist and discriminatory just like in the good old days. Sublimated sexual desire, or any desire, from women. Cheating and preying on secretaries by the men. And all the vices; smoking, drinking, and cheating cause we didn't know it wasn't good for us. I could just hug the historical accuracy of it all. Makes for such a vibrant story. And the best part of all? The ads. Watching these throwback ad men pitching and wooing clients with genius new concepts, loose women and cocktails is fantastic.

There is a Mad Men marathon this Sunday on AMC starting at 9am. They'll be airing all 7 episodes. Once your caught up you can catch them on Thursday nights.

Oh, I totally agree! I love this show and can't wait to see what happens next. I wish it was on twice a week. Sometimes I do an encore viewing just to catch all the little things I missed while obsessing over the sets or the costumes (or Don Draper's hot mysterious-ness).

Thanks to you, I spent all day watching this show. I loved it, so did the hubby. We needed to find a Soprano/6 ft under replacement and this is it. I so love the dresses, small waist and big skirts. You can sure hide a big ass in them. Don is so cute and such a sleaze ball. I just want to slap Campbell around, and Peggy, is she the biggest dumbass or what??? Love it.

It is utterly addicting. I rewatched a couple moments here and there just to drool over the clothes.
