I've got two awesome Virtue or Vice packages to photograph (psst - if you participated in the swap and have yours up on your blog please let me know so I can link!), a Weight Watcher's meeting to attend, a Future MILF post to write and a client blog to finish up. I'm so late. But I have excuses with pictures.
I finished up the latest Wee Wonderful's Fall Stitchette pillow with (my very first attempt at) a matching drawstring bag. Whipped it up in time to give to my niece for her birthday this weekend. It's become a fun tradition to give one to each niece for their birthday. Though each time I make one an adult always says, "You should sell those!" and I have to explain why Hillary would rightfully kick my ass since they are her brilliant designs. But I love that everyone digs them so much. I added some Japanese kawaii (happy) fabric scraps to the backpack for fun. I gave it to her while we were at Husband's Mother's farm in Illinois for our annual pumpkin party weekend. Large pumpkins were carved, much beer was consumed and goofy uncles entertained the kids all weekend. This was Home sweet home for the duration! (The tent and sadly not the awesome airstream in the background). And it had a great view of the farm's alpacas!Husband and kids carve a 100 pound pumpkin. Don't be confused, the guy in the orange shirt is Husband's look-a-like big brother. Daughter has my style of hammock relaxation. A book and a drink, aah. Son prefers the hammock monkey pile.
It was an amazing weekend, and I felt very blessed with a great extended family as I watched everyone play together. But I know I'm old because I feel hung over from "sleeping" in a tent with no showers and two kids that rise with the sun. I want to sterilize myself, grab an Italian ice out of the freezer and put the kids to bed at 5pm so I can watch mindless TV. Wish me luck.
