Cookie Making With Lotta

Decorating Paste? SO not the same thing as food coloring.

I found this out after hand mixing the red paste (it's actually liquid) into a ball of sugar cookie dough in order to make our traditional Candy Cane Cookies. These are my hands after 12 scrubbings with Dial soap, dishwashing liquid and some orange goop I found in husband's workshop. I only succeeded in making them very, very dry. But the pretty I just killed a chicken with my bare hands effect has not faded.

Did you try astringent or witch hazel?

That usually gets most things off my kids.

Hmmm... I recommend a nice, long bubble bath and a bottle of wine.

So, when can I expect my cookies?

So how did the cookies turn out?

Lava Soap might work. I had an eerily similar experience w/ frosting for red ladybug cupcakes. That paste stuff is fierce!

People laugh and make fun, but I never have this problem. Why? I buy those big boxes of latex gloves, that are used in doctor's offices, without powder for these projects. You can still work the fine details but you don't get all dirty.

I wear them when I am handling meat, all kinds ;), and mixing in food coloring. You will never be more happier.

Miss Jess - Thanks! My husband went to Jeweler's Row in Chicago to buy it. You buy the diamond and then make your own wedding band.

So while it's lovely odds are in came into the country via somebody's heini as that area of Chicago isn't exactly crime free.
