Show Me Your Wood

Daughter's getting a retro pink wooden kitchen for Christmas. (Right after we take out that second mortgage. It's not Pottery Barn, but even knock-offs don't come cheap.) So I've been trying to stock her new cupboards with some cool and inexpensive wooden food.

I
finally found an online store that has unbelievably reasonable prices and fun European wood foods. Only problem is that everyone else discovered it first so almost everything is sold out. Including this kickass Cocktail Set. Oh, that's right, a cocktail set. The Europeans don't fuck around. We're gonna teach baby to mix up a proper Gin Rickey by the time she's 4. Though booze is always my first choice in a wooden play set, I am willing to settle for pharmaceuticals but wouldn't ya know it - sold out again! Thank goodness I found some plans to make my own wooden toys. I better start whittling now if I want that Tommy Gun under the tree by Christmas!

Damn shame those are out of stock. Your kids would have had the best let's pretend parties on the block. Nothing says fun like faux booze and pharmaceuticals!

Booze, pills and guns! What fun!

Good luck finding those wooden toys! Our Costco had some wooden kitchen sets but I can't remember if they are still there or not. Not that you would drive to Atlanta for that but perhaps your Costco has them.

I cringe every time I see the red words *out of stock*.

I am a big fan of the Melissa and Doug food.

That cocktail set would be perfect for the son, he already walks around like he is drunk. Might as well, get him a martini glass to carry, too.
