I'm not so sure working with craft glue in an enclosed basement is such a good idea. I've been getting a little nutty with the jewelry making. And the Etsy checking. Lots of Etsy checking.
I think I might be stalking myself at this point.
Part of the madness comes from the button bounty I scored recently. When I picked son up from preschool on Friday the teacher mentioned offhandedly that they have a bunch of old buttons they got from the church that they aren't using. Would I like to look through them? It was all I could do not to start humping her leg. Church lady buttons? Church ladies who save everything. (Trying to be causal) Um, sure yeah I guess I'll take a look.
So she hauls out this giant Rubbermaid container filled to the top with fully stocked button cards. The cards were brown and faded, the font spidery and old. But the buttons, the buttons were NEW. Apparently, a factory closed down and donated a few boxes of their buttons to the church. So I dove my hands in and started mixing up the buttons. Almost immediately daughter peed on the floor. Let me tell you I almost told her to just shake it off.
Then today in the mail I got a little pouch of sweet glass buttons from the very talented Wendy Cook! She has even sweetly emailed back and forth with me a few times, giving pointers on how to make real jewelry. You know, the kind you don't need glue for. I don't think I'm ready for that just yet. Right now I've got a Diet Dr. Pepper in one hand and a tube of E6000 in the other, and it feels pretty good.
Maybe I should open a window?
