My mom is a great teacher, and has taught at a school that has not always been so easy to work in. Truth be told, the teachers that she works with can be a bit catty at times.
Recently, her team of teachers announced that the theme for Halloween this year was Alice in Wonderland. They would all be dressing as characters from the book and they decided mom would be dressing up as the Mad Hatter.
Seems innocent enough, but many of them are aware that she's struggled with depression most of her life. So suggesting that she dress up as the crazy character in the book? Not so nice.
So I suggested she go to school dressed up as a cake instead.
Mom: But how is that part of Alice In Wonderland?
Me: Cause then you could write "Eat Me" across your chest.
