My nice father in law and his wife gave the entire family an "Indiana" gift certificate last Christmas. We were able to pick from any State Park Inn in Indiana to use it at. So we all decided to go to Turkey Run Inn the weekend after Thanksgiving. If you're interested, you can see some photos over at Flickr. But the wildest is the one I took on the beautiful hiking trail.
Here's the start of the trail. The whole area was so hushed and pretty.
Then check this pic out. I realize you could easily say these were sunspots. But truly, the light was incredibly even. And the sun was well hidden behind the clouds. The Inn's trail guide had said, "The Miami Indians walked many of the trails that today's park visitors still use." And I remember thinking that I could imagine how they would have hung out by this stream near a tall, protective rock. The land was just so pristine. I turned, took a shot of the rock and here it is...
I think it's cool how each of the spots seems to be made up of perfect rings. Click on the picture to make it bigger and get a good look. No other pictures I took had these spots and I snapped quite a few consecutive ones. Very neat.
